Airat Gizzatullin presented an industrial park in Chirchik

An expanded meeting of the Russian-Uzbek Business Council was held in Moscow today.

It was attended by the Minister of Economic Development of Russia Maxim Reshetnikov, President of the Chamber of Commerce and Industry of the Russian Federation Sergey Katyrin, Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Republic of Uzbekistan to the Russian Federation Botirjon Asadov, Trade Representative of Russia in Uzbekistan Andrey Mokrousov, representatives of federal executive authorities and Russian companies, including the CEO of Technopolis “Himgrad” Airat Gizzatullin.

Maxim Reshetnikov in his speech noted the importance of cooperation between Russia and Uzbekistan as strategic partners in many industries. In 2021, investments in projects with Russian participation in Uzbekistan exceeded 10 billion US dollars. The Minister also spoke about promising joint projects of the two states. For example, this is the construction of a new high-tech industrial park in Chirchik, Tashkent region.

General Director of “Himgrad” Airat Gizzatullin presented the presentation of the new site. He said that the industrial park in Chirchik is designed to localize the production of Russian companies on the territory of Uzbekistan and will operate in a free economic zone. This allows you to get an exemption from customs duties when importing equipment, a delay in the payment of VAT when importing goods. Such preferences are important to support SMEs, especially in the new reality.

The government has already prepared a plan of priority actions for the adaptation of business and the economy. According to the Minister of Economic Development of Russia Maxim Reshetnikov, the plan is aimed at giving maximum freedom in the work of entrepreneurs, ensuring the smooth operation of enterprises through preferential lending, import substitution, reducing the cost of logistics, industry solutions.

At the meeting, they also talked about the importance of integration of Russian-Uzbek cooperation, discussed business opportunities for the two countries on the example of specific joint investment projects. The new Chairman of the Russian-Uzbek Business Council Andrey Kuzyaev, President of JSC ER–Telecom Holding, was introduced at the meeting.
